On the VARA-MODEM groups.io site, several users reported failed efforts to install or update VARA HF and/or VARA FM, after they attempted to run the installer program, with admin permission.

The reported behavior was that nothing would happen when attempting to run the VARA installer program, using the”Run as Administrator” option.

The original poster found the ‘probable cause’, and offered this solution:

Just a heads up on this issue I had…
It was a security issue I found under Properties, General, Security.
