In preparation for providing communications support, for the 2026 Lake Oswego “Lake Run” event, members of LOARES (the CARES Lake Oswego subunit) will be participating in “Exercise Mountain Park”…

Per Lake Oswego AEC Matt Stanley KK7MLS:

– Exercise Mountain Park will be conducted on April 25, 2026 at 0700-1200HRS.

– This exercise will simulate a Planned Event that LO ARES will support the following week (May 2, 2026), The Lake Oswego Lake Run.

– Auxiliary Communicators (AUXCs) will check into a Resource Net, and be assigned to one of two Divisions, a Tactical Address, and a Tactical Callsign.  When AUXCs report to their assigned Tactical Address, they will pass Messages similar to what they might encounter during the Lake Run.  The AUXC must Prioritize and summarize the information they have received so that it can be communicated efficiently and effectively to their assigned Division Net Control.

– A Hotwash will be conducted at the conclusion of the Exercise where AUXCs can share lessons learned for optimum support of the The Lake Oswego Lake Run on May 2, 2026.
